I'm an engineering lead based in Munich. Fourteen years in the industry, the last five managing engineering teams. Currently eight direct reports as Engineering Lead at AutoScout24, previously up to five as Tech Lead at CheMondis. I stay hands-on with the code and the architecture; leading people is the job I'm measured on.
What I'm doing now
- Engineering Lead at AutoScout24, leading the public GraphQL API replatforming and the squad shipping it.
- Mentoring two engineers through senior-track promotions and pairing on a third toward staff.
- Driving team-wide adoption of Claude Code agents: running build, scan, PR review, and migration agents across the squads I touch.
- Actively looking for engineering-lead roles. Open to both Munich and Berlin.
What I care about
Quality is observable
DORA metrics, Core Web Vitals, accessibility audits, eval sets for AI features. If the bar isn't measured, it isn't real.
Migrations, not big-bang rewrites
Most of the consequential work I've done has been incremental. Staged rollouts. Feature flags. Off-ramps. Zero-downtime is a process, not a constraint.
AI tooling, not AI theatre
Agents replace processes. Build, scan, review, migrate. Every agent has an exit code, a kill switch, and an eval set. No conversational gimmicks.
Coaching engineers up the ladder
1:1s, IDPs, performance reviews, hiring loops, calibration. The job isn't to be the smartest person in the room; it's to make the room smarter.

Engineering Lead, Full-Stack & AI Technologies AutoScout24
Eight direct reports.Led a strangler-fig replatforming of the public listing-search GraphQL API onto graphql-yoga + hono. Every production query shadow-diffed against the legacy service before any traffic shift. Drove a 30%+ p50 latency reduction on the most-consumed public API. Adopted Claude Code agents across squads. Rolled out a shared Claude Code skill pack (7 skills, 5 custom commands) and CodeRabbit on every PR.

Up to five direct reports. Architected the foundational frontend platform for Europe's leading B2B chemicals marketplace: component library, list/filter/search modules, payments via Stripe and Trustshare, GDPR consent. Full-loop hiring with CTO/VP sign-off.

Document capture and face-match modules for retail banking onboarding journeys. Core contributor on the unified component library powering Lloyds' web estate. Established WCAG 2.1 AA and IE9+ support standards. Worked beyond the UI on Java services and Azure-hosted environments behind those journeys.
